Hope was down, flat on his back. Hope had just been crunched in the ribs by a New York Giants defender, absorbing the kind of impact that would make fans cringe in reflex and then stand in silence. On Sunday, just when the long-suffering supporters of the Washington Commanders were getting their hopes up, Jayden Daniels was down.
